In dentistry, X-rays are used for various diagnostic purposes. They show defects that cannot be detected during an examination. Caries under fillings or in the interdental space can only be diagnosed on the basis of photographs. Infection in the jaws, abscesses or cysts, developmental disorders and tumours are also detected.
The OksDenta clinic’s offices are equipped with X-ray machines for obtaining dental X-rays, as well as a separate X-ray room with a panoramic dental X-ray machine X-MIND TRIUM, which is equipped with a volumetric imaging computed tomography function, and which produces excellent-quality 2D and 3D photographs for assessing the patient’s condition and making a more accurate treatment plan.
In the clinic OksDenta, the following X-ray examinations are performed:
- dental X-ray – performed when you want to see the condition of the crowns of one or more teeth and their roots. Thanks to dental X-ray, it is possible to accurately determine the areas damaged by caries, and when treating the root canals of the teeth, see their quantity, length, location.
- panoramic X-ray – covers the entire oral cavity and the surrounding areas (the joints of the lower jaw and the maxillary sinuses). Panoramic X-ray is performed:
- to assess the general condition of the teeth and jaws,
- planning prosthetics work,
- planning orthodontic treatment,
- to assess the periodontal condition,
- planning surgical procedures (roving of a thinned or mental tooth, dental implantation, bone augmentation).
-
3D computed tomography – is a new and modern way to capture the patient’s teeth with high accuracy, with all its components and jaw, thus facilitating the course of treatment and planning complex procedures. 3D computed tomography is performed:
- When planning operations: implantation, sinus lifting, bone restoration.
- When carrying out treatment of dental canals.
- For the treatment of periodontitis.
- When planning orthodontic treatment.
