About orthodontic treatment

Orthodontic treatment is designed to align the teeth and correct the bite. This treatment can be applied to patients of any age – both children and adults. Orthodontic treatment lasts on average 1.5-2.5 years, depending on the complexity of the situation. In complex situations, additional orthodontic appliances or surgery may be required. The duration and course of treatment is discussed during the first consultation. Orthodontic treatment results in harmonious facial features and an aesthetic smile.

How to start?

The first step is to visit an orthodontist, who will examine the condition of your teeth, carry out the necessary tests, and select the optimal treatment based on the situation and the patient’s preferences. An impression of the dental arches is taken and a detailed treatment plan is then drawn up and discussed with the patient. Orthodontic treatment can be carried out when the oral cavity is healthy and professional oral hygiene has been performed.

Straightening teeth with braces

Methods of orthodontic treatment

Dental plate. This is a removable orthodontic appliance used to straighten teeth and correct the bite. Plaque treatment can be done in children or adolescents before the bite is fully formed.

Braces (fixed system). The braces are bonded to the surface of the teeth for the intended period. Treatment usually lasts 1.5-2 years. Braces straighten teeth and correct the bite of both children and adult patients. OksDenta offers several types of braces:

  • Metal. This is probably the most cost-effective way to straighten teeth, but the least aesthetic.
  • Ceramic. These braces are close to the natural colour of the teeth, making them less noticeable. These braces are not a very practical choice as they often break.
  • Beligature. These braces are unique in that they have a special lock inside which helps to regulate the friction between the teeth and the brackets. Thanks to the unique brace system, treatment is shorter and does not require frequent visits to the orthodontist.

Invisible caps (removable). Teeth straightening is possible without braces. Invisible straightening caps are a modern orthodontic technique for aesthetic and comfortable straightening of teeth and correction of the bite. The caps are also distinguished by the fact that they can be removed when needed, which means that dental care, eating and other daily habits are completely unchanged.
